Biggibilla is the Gamilaraay for Echidna. Through the winter months is where the Biggibilla will be on the move. We are told they are travelling on their journey and bring messages to the people. Be mindful of this and if you do come across them to feel what they maybe bringing to you. They love to eat large ants in particular termites (white ants). When the goannas and snakes go into hibernation thats when you see these little guys on the move.
Also a great source of food for First Nations peoples. When gutted you can place many stones and bush herbs into and cook on open fire. Please do not try to catch unless you are with a local knowledge holder.
